ShikakuOfThe.Day does not require an account. Game data is stored in your browser. Cloudflare provides hosting and analytics, PostHog provides minimal gameplay analytics, and Google AdSense provides advertising.
Stored on your device
Puzzle progress, full statistics and settings are saved in browser local storage and are not sent to us. Puzzle progress is removed after 30 days; statistics and settings remain until you clear the site’s data. The minimal timing measurements described below are the only exception.
Hosting, security and analytics
Cloudflare may process request information such as IP address, requested page, browser and security signals to deliver and protect the site. Cloudflare Web Analytics provides aggregated traffic and performance data. Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not collect personal data or use cookies, local storage or fingerprinting.
Minimal gameplay analytics
We send cookieless game-started and game-completed events with the puzzle date, difficulty, best time for that difficulty and whether the puzzle is current or archived. Completed events also include the puzzle’s completion time. PostHog is configured without person profiles, persistent identifiers, autocapture, pageview tracking or session recording. Events include a schema version so reporting can distinguish changes to the event format.
Advertising and measurement
Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, IP addresses, web beacons and other identifiers to deliver, measure and secure ads. Ads may be personalized based on your location, consent and settings. We do not sell personal data.
We use legitimate interests to operate and secure the site, and consent where required for advertising cookies and personalization. Google, PostHog and Cloudflare may process data globally; their policies describe retention and international transfers.
Game data: clear this site’s data in your browser to delete progress, statistics and settings.
